Djillali Annane is the Director of General ICU at the Raymond Poincaré (AP-HP) and of the new Comprehensive Sepsis Center PROMETHEUS. Since the beginning of his carrier, the primary focus of his fundamental and clinical investigations is to understand the mechanisms of progression from infection to organ dysfunction, sepsis and ultimately death. His group together with national and international partners works on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the deregulation of host immune response to an infection. He founded the INSERM labelled CRICSTRIGGERSEP, a unique sepsis network gathering about 30 hospitals and research lab in Europe. He contributed to steering committees of Surviving Sepsis Campaign for 3 revisions of sepsis guidelines (2008, 2012, 2016), of International Task Force for Sepsis 3 definition (2016), and of for the definition and management of Critical Illness Related
Corticosteroids Insufficiency.
