DR / Posdoc

Dr. Mikel Hernández Jiménez holds a BSc in Telecommunication Systems Engineering from Mondragon Unibertsitatea (2019), an MSc in Biomedical Technologies from Mondragon Unibertsitatea (2021), and a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU, 2026). His doctoral thesis, “Synthetic Tabular Data for Privacy-Preserving Data Sharing and Analysis in Health Research: Evaluation Frameworks and Infrastructure Integration”, focuses on synthetic tabular data to enable privacy-preserving data sharing and analysis in health research. He is currently a researcher at Vicomtech’s Digital Health and Biomedical Technologies Department, where he develops workflows and tools for synthetic data generation and evaluation in healthcare and contributes to Big Data architectures for data catalogues and federated computing in data space environments.

ENG / PhD Student

Imanol Isasa Reinoso obtained his degree in Biomedical Engineering from Mondragon University in 2021 after spending time in Germany (Hochschule Furtwangen University, HFU) focusing on the analysis of EIT (Electrical Impedance Tomography) images in COVID-19 patients in collaboration with the ITeM (Institute of Technical Medicine). In September 2021, he began studying for a Master's Degree in Biomedical Technologies at Mondragon Unibertsitatea, and at the end of 2022 he began developing his Master's Thesis at Vicomtech, entitled ‘Healthcare-oriented generation of synthetic time series and associated subjects’. After completing his master's studies, Imanol joined the Department of Digital Health and Biomedical Technologies at the same centre. Imanol is currently a researcher at Vicomtech and is working on his doctoral thesis on federated learning technologies and generative models at the University of the Basque Country.

Yone Tellechea Belzunce studied Biomedical Engineering at the Public University of Navarra between 2019 and 2023. In her final year, she did an internship at the Vicomtech technology centre, where she also completed her final degree project. The title of his final degree project was ‘Recommendation systems based on collaborative filtering and reinforcement learning’. After completing both his internship and his final degree project, he joined the Department of Digital Health and Biomedical Technologies as a research assistant, participating in projects focused on the development of AI models. He is currently studying a master's degree in Artificial Intelligence at the International University of La Rioja.
