AI in Healthcare: Bridging Innovation and Frontline Care
I had the distinct pleasure of being invited to give a seminar on AI in Healthcare as part of the CAPSUL programme (Campus Participatif en Santé Numérique du site universitaire de Lille).
What made this session incredibly rewarding was the diverse, multidisciplinary group in attendance. I had the opportunity to present to and exchange ideas with frontline healthcare professionals, including nurses, physicians, midwives, and healthcare assistants (aides-soignantes).
Why this matters:
AI is rapidly reshaping medicine, but its clinical success relies entirely on the people who use it every day. Discussing the realities, challenges, and opportunities of digital health with the people directly caring for patients is essential to building AI tools that actually support healthcare teams and improve patient outcomes.
🗣️ Engaging the Frontline: Hearing firsthand perspectives from doctors, nursing staff, and midwives helps bridge the gap between technical AI development and real-world clinical practice.
A huge thank you to the CAPSUL programme and the Université de Lille for the invitation, and to all the dedicated healthcare professionals who attended and brought such insightful questions to the table!
